Sen. John A. Kissel (R – 7th)

Sen. John Kissel, serving his 12th term as State Senator for the 7th District, lives in Enfield with his wife, Cynthia, and their sons, Nathaniel and Tristan. Born in Worcester, Mass. in 1959, Sen. Kissel was raised in Windsor, Connecticut. He received his BS from the University Of Connecticut School Of Education in 1981, his JD from Western New England College School of Law in 1984, and a BA in in History from UCONN in 2002. He is a Past Adjunct Professor at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass. and currently works as a corporate attorney for Eversource. In the State Senate, John is the Chief Deputy Senate Republican Majority Leader, is the Co-Chair of the Judiciary Committee, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Children and serves as a Member on the Appropriations Committee and the Legislative Management Committee.

Rep. Tami Zawistowski (R – 61st)

State Rep. Tami Zawistowski represents the 61st General Assembly District serving Suffield, East Granby, and Windsor. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in an April 2014 special election, and was re-elected in the 2014, 2016 and 2018 general elections. She serves as the Ranking Member on the legislature’s Planning & Development Committee, while also serving on the Appropriations and Transportation Committees. She is a small business owner and a former bank executive vice president who also holds professional experience in real estate finance and property valuation.

Board of Selectmen

John Ziobro (R – Incumbent)

John and his wife Lucia have lived in East Granby since 1996. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and is part owner of a small business that overhauls large commercial jet engines. John has served three terms as Selectman and is a member of the Board of Education.

John is seeking re-election as Selectman. As Selectman, John has kept general government spending increases to a minimum and will strive to keep municipal expenses as low as possible without negatively impacting necessary services. His understanding of town finances will be valuable in helping the Board of Education with potential coordination of non-education functions.

 
 
 
 


Board of Finance

Mark Porter (R – Vice Chair)

Mark has lived in East Granby for more than 25 years, and is a graduate of East Granby High School. He also graduated from Northeastern University and holds an MBA from Rensselaer. Mark earned his CPA in the tax practice at Price Waterhouse. He is currently Finance Director for a locally based insurance company serving the communities of Connecticut and previously held financial leadership roles at a national insurance carrier. Mark served on the Board of Education from 2010 to 2011 and serves on the Board of Finance since 2012, where he is currently the Vice Chair. While on the Board of Finance, Mark has led or served on numerous subcommittees, most recently chairing the Auditor Selection team and serving on the Bonding Committee.
As a current member of the Board of Finance, Mark has consistently demonstrated a balanced and thoughtful approach to fiscally responsible decisions and recommendations for the town of East Granby.
 
 

Lee Sandora (R – Member)

Lee, a resident of East Granby for 32 years, lives on North Main Street with his wife Marie. Lee is an Account Executive at HESCO a leading Industrial Automation Supplier and is a graduate of University of Hartford with an MBA and a BSEE degree. He serves as Chairman of the Republican Town Committee and is a member of the Board of Finance.
He also served as Chairman of the Economic Development Commission, The Farmers Market Committee and was an Alternate on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
 
 
 
 
 
 

Jim Francoline (R – Member)

Jim has lived in East Granby for more than 30 years with his wife, Carol. He is a UConn graduate with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration – Finance. He is employed at Pratt & Whitney and has strong experience in manufacturing engineering – high technology processes; supplier audits; contracts; international partnerships; purchasing; export compliance and finance.
Jim has served three years on the East Granby Board of Education, including one year as Vice Chair, and is also Vice Chair of the Republican Town Committee.
As a current member on the Board of Finance, Jim is committed to helping East Granby focus on providing sound financial practices while offering the best quality of life for residents. He is committed to making and keeping East Granby a place where everyone from children to senior
citizens can live, be successful and afford to retire in our town.
 
 

Oliver Davis(R – Alternate)

Oliver Davis and his wife Alisha moved to East Granby in 2014 where they instantly fell in love with the small town community feel. Prior to East Granby, Oliver lived in other nearby towns for more than eighteen years. During that time he worked for The Hartford in a variety of different finance and leadership positions.
Oliver joined the East Granby Economic Development Commission in early 2016 and has enjoyed working for the benefit of East Granby residents in that role. He became a member the Board of Education late this year and believes that he can further contribute to the community by continuing to serve and applying his education and work experience to the betterment of our town.

Lucia Ziobro (R – Member)

Lucia and her husband, Selectman John Ziobro, have resided in East Granby since 1996. She has recently retired from a 30+ year career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Connecticut, focusing on the rights and support of children. She currently serves the town as Vice Chair of the Commission on Aging.
As a member of the Board of Education, Lucia would draw on her experience as an attorney and children’s advocate to deal with childhood legal issues and related matters.

Planning and Zoning

Tom Derlinga (R – Member)

Tom has lived in East Granby since 1989 with his wife, Roxanne, on Wynding Hills Road, where they raised their two daughters. He has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford. He is currently a partner in an engineering firm specializing in industrial controls.
Tom has served on the Planning & Zoning Commission for 10+ years, and has also served on the Water Pollution Control Authority. He and his wife were attracted to East Granby because of its open space and wooded areas, where they enjoy hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and snow shoeing.
As a current member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, Tom is committed to responsible development to expand East Granby’s tax base, while preserving the rural character of our town for future generations.

Aaron Nardi (R – Member)

Aaron has lived in East Granby since 2005. He and his wife, Marcie, have two children and live on Concord Drive. Aaron works at United Technologies Research Center and was previously a Materials Engineer for Hamilton Sundstrand in Windsor Locks.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Andrea Ullmann (R – Member)

Ann and her husband Bill have lived in East Granby since 1979.We have raised our 4 daughters in town and all have gone through the East Granby School System. She has worked as an aide in the EG school system and was employed by University of Hartford in the Financial Aid/Admission Department for 16 years. Now retired she still volunteers in the EG School System since 2 of her 5 Grandchildren are students in the schools
