State Senator John A. Kissel, the Chief Deputy Senate Republican Leader, is currently serving his 15th term representing Connecticut’s 7th Senatorial District, which includes East Granby, Enfield, Somers, Suffield, Windsor Locks and parts of Granby and Windsor. Senator Kissel is the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee, which addresses matters relating to the Department of Corrections, courts, judicial procedures and criminal law. Sen. Kissel also serves as Ranking Senator on the Regulations Review Committee, which reviews regulations proposed by state agencies before regulations are implemented. In addition, he serves as a member of the General Law and Transportation Committees. For many years, Senator Kissel has been a leading advocate for seniors. He has received Legislative Achievement Awards from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) for his efforts to protect seniors from financial exploitation in 2012, 2015 and 2016. Senator Kissel has also been named Legislator of the Year by both the Connecticut Assisted Living Association and the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association. Born in Worcester, Mass. in 1959, Senator Kissel was raised in Windsor, Connecticut. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University Of Connecticut School Of Education in 1981, a Juris Doctor degree from Western New England College School of Law in 1984, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in history, from the University of Connecticut in 2002. He is a Past Adjunct Professor at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass. and currently works as a corporate attorney for Eversource.

State Rep. Tami Zawistowski represents the 61st General Assembly District serving Suffield, East Granby, and Windsor. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in an April 2014 special election, and was re-elected in the 2014, 2016 and 2018 general elections. She serves as the Ranking Member on the legislature’s Planning & Development Committee, while also serving on the Appropriations and Transportation Committees. She is a small business owner and a former bank executive vice president who also holds professional experience in real estate finance and property valuation.

Jim has lived in East Granby for more than 30 years with his wife, Carol. He is a UConn graduate with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration – Finance. He is employed at Pratt & Whitney and has strong experience in manufacturing engineering – high technology processes; supplier audits; contracts; international partnerships; purchasing; export compliance and finance.
Jim has served three years on the East Granby Board of Education, including one year as Vice Chair, and is also Vice Chair of the Republican Town Committee.
As a current member on the Board of Finance, Jim is committed to helping East Granby focus on providing sound financial practices while offering the best quality of life for residents. He is committed to making and keeping East Granby a place where everyone from children to senior
citizens can live, be successful and afford to retire in our town.
Oliver Davis and his wife Alisha moved to East Granby in 2014 where they instantly fell in love with the small town community feel. Prior to East Granby, Oliver lived in other nearby towns for more than eighteen years. During that time he worked for The Hartford in a variety of different finance and leadership positions.
Oliver joined the East Granby Economic Development Commission in early 2016 and has enjoyed working for the benefit of East Granby residents in that role. He became a member the Board of Finance (Alternate) late this year and believes that he can further contribute to the community by continuing to serve and applying his education and work experience to the betterment of our town.

John served on the Board of Education from 2003 – 2015, where he also chaired the Facilities Committee. He also served as Co-Chairman of both the High School Building Committee and Middle School Renovation Committee, with both school projects finishing under budget. He has also served as Vice Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and is a Past President of the East Granby Lions Club. He received his B.S. in Building Construction from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and has worked as a Construction Superintendent for the past 30 years. John and his family have lived in East Granby since 1993.
Rick is currently a member of the Board of Education. He and his wife, Bridget,
moved to East Granby in 2016, and this is where they plan to raise their two young daughters. Rick served as a submariner in the US Navy nuclear program for six years. He graduated Northeastern University Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and is currently regional sales manager of a company that produces food, beverage and pharmaceutical process equipment. Rick currently serves on the East Granby Volunteer Fire Dept.
Planning and Zoning
Tom has lived in East Granby since 1989 with his wife, Roxanne, on Wynding Hills Road, where they raised their two daughters. He has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford. He is currently a partner in an engineering firm specializing in industrial controls.
Tom has served on the Planning & Zoning Commission for 10+ years, and has also served on the Water Pollution Control Authority. He and his wife were attracted to East Granby because of its open space and wooded areas, where they enjoy hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and snow shoeing.
As a current member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, Tom is committed to responsible development to expand East Granby’s tax base, while preserving the rural character of our town for future generations.
David has lived in East Granby since 2003 with his wife and two kids and is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. David is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Licensed Environmental Professional in the State of Connecticut and works for a national environmental company in East Hartford, Connecticut. David has served on the East Granby Planning and Zoning Commission since 2014. David is also a participating member of the East Granby Land Trust. While his kids were in school, David has either coached or assisted in coaching both kids in baseball, basketball and soccer within the town.
Dan and his family have lived in East Granby for the last 19+ years. He has a BA in business administration and has been involved in the computer software industry and construction trades for 30+ years. Dan has served as Selectman and for 12 years on the Planning & Zoning Commission including more than 10 years as Vice Chair, and now serves as an alternate. He has been very active in town activities over the years including the 150th anniversary committee, and scouting and sports programs.
Katie and her family recently moved to East Granby, motivated by the charm and small-town feel of the community. She graduated from Saint Joseph College and currently works for an area insurance company. She decided to get involved based on the encouragement of several long-term residents.
Charlie and his family have lived in East Granby since 1981. He is an Army veteran, serving with the 82nd Airborne. Charlie spent 20+ years with the Hartford Police Dept. and another 17+ years with the East Granby Police Dept., where he served as Union President for 10+ years. He is Co-Founder of Connecticut Canine Care & Rescue.
Board of Assessment Appeals
Aaron grew up in northwest CT and moved to East Granby in 2005 with his wife Marcie and two children. His sons are now in high school and are in the East Granby school system. He has taken active rolls in scouting, little league, and travel basketball over the years with his boys. Aaron has degrees from UConn and Rensselaer in Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science and Mechanical Metallurgy, worked for 22 years with United Technologies Corporation as an engineer, and is currently working for the US Army Research Labs. He has been a member of the Board of Assessment Appeals for over 10 years.
Ann and her husband Bill have lived in East Granby since 1979.We have raised our 4 daughters in town and all have gone through the East Granby School System. She has worked as an aide in the EG school system and was employed by University of Hartford in the Financial Aid/Admission Department for 16 years. Now retired she still volunteers in the EG School System since 2 of her 5 Grandchildren are students in the schools

He has a degree in philosophy and has spent 30+ years working outdoors with both local private and public infrastructures. Jim currently serves as an Alternate on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
