Steven Hall
Steve is a long-time resident of East Granby with his wife, Heather and three children.
Steve came to East Granby in 1974 he attended and Graduated from East Granby High school and Continued his education at American International College completing a Bachelor of Science program majoring in Criminal Justice in 1987. In this small town he learned the value of service to the community early. At age 17 along with his mother Alice, he became an EMT and volunteered service to the EGVA as well as 2 other municipal ambulance corps. That experience led to his employment as a part time police officer in East Granby, and ultimately to a career as a Connecticut State Trooper. Steve served as a Connecticut State Trooper for over 20 years retiring as Sgt. Steve was decorated 9 times including 2 Police Officer of the Year awards.
His career as a Trooper ended abruptly as he was seriously injured in the line of duty. During his recovery he sought out new employment and was selected to serve a municipality, first as the Supervisor of Communications and then promoted to Director of Emergency Management/ Civilian Services Manager. These stops along his career path are directly relevant to the position in which he is running. His experience as both a CSP Sergeant and as the Director of a multi-million-dollar division will allow him to assimilate the policies and procedures that govern how the Town operates. The extensive experience dealing with budgets, union contracts and State and federal purchasing contracts are among the tools that he can use to facilitate the transition to Board of Selectmen.
Steve has a strong dedication to the community having participated in the development of the town’s youth through organized sports, volunteering with the Cub Scouts, Booster Club, Friends of East Granby Baseball, assisting the PTO with hot lunches, Project Graduation and numerous other activities.
